  • The Lens: SMC / Takumar 105mm f/2.4 

    Often called the "King" of the Pentax 67 system, this lens is the primary reason many photographers buy into the system. 

    • 35mm Equivalent: Approximately 52mm f/1.2, making it a "normal" lens with a field of view similar to the human eye but with significantly more background separation.

    • Versions: Early versions are labeled "Super-Takumar" or "SMC Takumar," while later versions (post-1989) are labeled "SMC Pentax 67." Older Takumar versions often contain thorium glass, which can develop a distinctive yellow tint over time that some photographers prize for its "warm" character.

    • Performance: Known for being sharp in the center even wide open at f/2.4, it is a favorite for portraiture and street photography.
